Round two test flight, after the rebuild.
Well it took a little bit of time, but I got the Skywalker flying again! This time with a new LRS (Long Range System) radio. (Rmilec) The plane doesn't fly quite as true as it did before the crash, but considering the tail was in two pieces before, I think it turned out well enough.
As I did before, I wanted to test out the plane and controls before adding the FPV video camera and transmitter equipment. The nose of the plane and the tail were just a little crooked after the repairs, so I was a little unsure how the plane would handle this time around.
The plane wanted to climb this time a little more than before, most likely due to the added weight of glue/tape/rods that were installed to repair the tail section. I should be able to move the batter forward a bit more in the nose to compensate, and the FPV camera is on the nose should help offset it some more. I completed two short test flights in all. (and one botched throw that ended up with the plane nosing into the ground from a few feet) The plane flew well, floated like a kite, hardly needing 25% throttle to cruise. Next up is the test it with the FPV gear!
